O’Leary Endorsed by Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund
Leah O’Leary, a Democratic candidate for State Representative in the 12th Norfolk district, has been officially endorsed by the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund (PPAF). O’Leary, one of 17 pro-choice candidates to be endorsed by PPAF thus far, was chosen based on her strong commitment to women’s rights, reproductive choice, and other health issues. Angus McQuilken, Director of the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund, said “We are excited to endorse Leah O’Leary for State Representative. We appreciate her commitment to women’s health and real health education for our youth, and we are proud to give her our endorsement.”
The Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund is the electoral arm of Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts (PPLM), the largest freestanding reproductive health care provider in the state. For more than 75 years, PPLM has protected and promoted reproductive health and freedom of choice through clinical services, education, and advocacy. PPAF is committed to electing legislators in Massachusetts that are supportive of PPLM’s mission, and educating voters on the importance of reproductive health care issues in politics.
O’Leary says she is “thrilled” to have the endorsement of Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund. In addition, O’Leary is also pleased to welcome Kassia Palys to her campaign. Palys joins the campaign team after a rigorous training from PPAF, and brings with her significant previous campaign experience. A native of the Chicago area, Kassia has been a volunteer in state legislative races as well as U.S. Senate and House races, including the campaign of Senator Barack Obama and Congresswomen Melissa Bean. Palys’ primary role will be as volunteer coordinator for the campaign; if you are interested in volunteering for Leah O’Leary please contact Kassia at 781.762.6061.
