DEMOCRAT FOR STATE REP

A community leader who puts our families first. Leah working

Our families' real concerns are Leah O'Leary's first priorities:
  • Strengthening our public schools so our kids have greater opportunities.
  • Reforming healthcare so our families have access to quality, affordable care.
  • Revitalizing the local economy so our families have access to good jobs.
Leah has been an active and engaged member of our community for over 30 years and has always held a deep commitment to our families. A leader on issues that affect the people of Norwood and Walpole, Leah was part of the Townwide Taskforce Against Hate and Violence. Leah was also co-founded the Norwood-Walpole Citizens for All Families, an organization that worked to create a more inclusive community.

Leah's family As a social worker, Leah has spent her career helping children and parents to create strong, healthy families. She has continued this work as a teacher, and now serves as the Executive Director of A Red Thread Adoption Services, Inc. Leah spent two decades working at the Department of Public Welfare and the Department of Social Services, so she has seen firsthand the power that government has to help families and communities.

Leah has lived in Norwood all her life and her family's roots in the community go back over a century. She raised her family in Norwood with her late husband Paul, a social worker and former priest. Their three children, Russell, Dennis, and Katharine all attended the Norwood public schools and have since remained close to their hometown.
